Overview

This grant is tailored for tenure-track faculty members in their first to fourth year, holding M.D. and/or Ph.D. degrees. It aims to support these early-career scientists in establishing their research projects to a point where they can secure NIH R01 or other independent funding.

Candidates must not currently hold a substantial independent research award, such as an NIH R01 grant or its equivalent in scope and funding from other sources.

Indirect costs are not allowed.

Process

Since this is a limited submission opportunity with internal competition, interested faculty should submit a one-page outline by June 2 to AVP of Research and limited submission coordinator, Satyen Kumar. Please copy [email protected].
One page submission should include the following:
  • What is your proposal?
  • What is the impact?
  • How do you plan to use the funding over the time period?
Selected applicant will be notified by June 15 and then complete the Sponsored Programs Administration's Proposal Request Form to be assigned a Research Administrator. Final proposal will be due to the RF by June 23 for final submission by July 1, 2026 (funder's deadline).
