ALBANY, N.Y. (March 31, 2026) — Starting on Monday, you’ll see a new morning news email in your inbox, topped by an image of Minerva, the Roman goddess of wisdom and the symbol of the University at Albany. The Morning Minnie (yes, that’s short for Minerva) will replace Today at UAlbany, bringing you news of your peers, your colleagues and the University in a new format.

Expect to see The Morning Minnie four times a week, Monday through Thursday, when classes are in session. Expect to see more great photos and videos from the University’s crack digital media team, more interactive features, more profiles of our University community. We’ll still cover the research our faculty is conducting, the arts on campus, and the creative, scholarly and involvement endeavors by students.

Some weekly features we are planning:

  • Ask an expert. Ever wonder how something works? Why things happen the way they do? Send us the questions you want answered and we’ll find an expert from our University community to answer you.
  • Photo of the week: We’ll highlight campus goings on and campus beauty. Send us your best photos too so we can share them.
  • The Short Version: We’ll share our weekly podcast, featuring the voices of the University on a wide range of topics from research to wellness to belonging to … well, pretty much anything.

And we want to hear from you. What do you want to see in a news email? What do you want to know about what’s happening on campus, whether in the labs, the libraries, the podium or anywhere else? Let us know.
