About

Jennifer Miller, EdD, is the Executive Director of Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE) in the Provost’s Office at the University at Albany, where she manages the development of high-quality, career-focused learning designed for working professionals, organizations and lifelong learners.  

Dr. Miller provides strategic leadership to expand UAlbany's professional and continuing education initiatives, ensuring they remain responsive to workforce demands and accessible to a broad learner base. She oversees the development and implementation of innovative, market-driven educational offerings and collaborates with stakeholders to create programs that attract and retain adult learners and professionals.

Prior to joining UAlbany, Dr. Miller was the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Community College Support at the State University of New York (SUNY) System Administration Office and the Executive Director of the New York Success Center. In her role at SUNY, she developed and led several major, multi-partner postsecondary projects and initiatives focusing on leadership professional development, developmental education and curriculum pathways reforms, strategic enrollment management, adult learners and student parents, and several workforce development and training programs.

Before her role at SUNY, Dr. Miller was the Director of Communications at the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities (CICU), an association of more than 100 independent colleges and universities in New York State.  

She also served as the Director of Business Partnerships and Corporate Relations for Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and as the Manager of Economic Development for the Cornell Center for Technology Enterprise and Commercialization in Ithaca, New York. While in Ithaca, she was a part-time instructor at Tompkins-Cortland Community College.  

Additionally, she has experience in business and economic development as the Director of Business Development for the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District and as the Vice President for Marketing and Communications for the Center for Economic Growth in Albany, New York. She is a Gallup-certified Strengths Coach.

Dr. Miller holds a bachelor's degree in marketing and management from Siena College, a master's degree in organizational communication from the University at Albany and a doctorate in educational leadership from Manhattanville University.
