‘University at Albany Week’ Airs on WAMC’s The Academic Minute

ALBANY, N.Y. (July 15, 2025) — Albany’s WAMC Northeast Public Radio aired five segments from UAlbany faculty last week during “University at Albany Week” on The Academic Minute.
The Academic Minute features a two-and-a-half-minute segment each day, Monday through Friday, from researchers at colleges and universities around the world, keeping listeners abreast of what's new and exciting in higher education research.
University at Albany Week:
- Monday, July 7: Improving The Home Buyout Process, featuring Alex Greer, College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity
- Tuesday, July 8: Exploring Climate Change in South America, featuring Mathias Vuille, Department of Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences at the College of Arts and Sciences
- Wednesday, July 9: New Mechanism Driving Antimicrobial Resistance, Cheryl Andam, Department of Biological Sciences at the College of Arts and Sciences
- Thursday, July 10: Engaging Peers to Help College Students with Problem Gambling, featuring Laura Longo, School of Education
- Friday, July 11: The Key to Engaging with AI…Public Libraries, featuring Mila Gascó-Hernandez, Center for Technology in Government and Rockefeller College
The Academic Minute airs on 70 NPR-affiliated stations in the United States and Canada and is also shared online. It is hosted by Lynn Pasquerella, president of the Association of American Colleges and Universities, and produced locally by WAMC’s David Hopper.
