The partnership between UAlbany’s College of Nanotechnology, Science, and Engineering and UPV’s Research Institute for Energy Engineering offers students from both institutions the opportunity to pursue a coordinated course of study and earn a degree from each university. As part of the program, students will also gain valuable international experience by spending time on both campuses.

“This is the next stage in a long-standing and successful collaboration between UAlbany and UPV that builds on our mission to nurture and educate an engaged global community of students and scholars,” said University at Albany President Havidán Rodríguez, who signed the agreement during a visit to Spain on July 23. “Together, we are creating pathways for students to gain meaningful insight, where they can learn different perspectives and graduate with skills that will prepare them to lead in an increasingly international workforce.”

In addition to the dual degree, the two universities signed a second agreement to expand student exchange opportunities in other academic areas.

UPV Rector José Capilla also signed the agreement, which was celebrated in a formal event attended by leadership from both universities and the participating colleges, as well as international programs staff, faculty and administrators.
