ALBANY, N.Y. (May 1, 2025) — MyUAlbany, the one-stop portal for accessing University systems and information is getting an upgrade. All the same content will be available but beginning May 22, you’ll notice some changes in the look, sign-in and site navigation.

First off, the new MyUAlbany Portal will be role-based, designed to allow each user to see content specific to their role. There will no longer be separate sign-ons for students and faculty/staff, eliminating one step as you enter the portal.

The new dashboard will make it easier to navigate to the services you need.

The new MyUAlbany will feature a customizable dashboard, with widgets that provide both personalized and general information in one spot, and include a search bar to help users quickly find what they need on the site.

The new portal offers a mobile-friendly interface to make it easier to use on your phone, and includes a MyUAlbany mobile app, available from both the iOS App Store and Google Play.

For phase one of the new MyUAlbany, all the same content and information available on the current portal will be easily accessible. And you’ll still be able to sign in from www.albany.edu/myualbany

In the future, the new portal will continue to expand and consolidate various campus technologies, resources and workflows into a single, easy-to-navigate platform, creating a more cohesive digital experience for users across campus.

Planning, design and implementation of the new MyUAlbany portal began in early 2024 and included stakeholders from across campus.

How to prepare

If you are a user of MyUAlbany, you don’t need to make any changes. When the new site opens on May 22, you’ll easily familiarize yourself with the new look.

If you or your office share material or instructions about how to find content on MyUAlbany, you’ll want to familiarize yourself in advance with the new look. You might need to make changes in your instructions to better describe the new portal. Beginning May 1, you’ll be able to view and test the new portal at https://myualbany.albany.edu/ to familiarize yourself with the new look.
