UAlbany Applauds 5,000 New Graduates During Weekend Commencement Ceremonies
Nearly 5,000 students celebrated their graduation from the University at Albany, which hosted its 181st commencement festivities from Thursday, May 15, through Sunday, May 18. Among the graduates were an estimated 3,000 undergraduates and 1,900 graduate students, including recipients who completed their degrees last summer and fall as well as over the winter. UAlbany held a series of commencement events for the Class of 2025 throughout the week, highlighted by individual stage crossings and the University-wide outdoor undergraduate ceremony.

Psychology Students Partner with Regional Food Bank to Conduct Job Analyses, Offer Recommendations
UAlbany graduate students in the industrial-organizational psychology practicum course work with organizations in the local community to analyze challenges and offer science-backed recommendations. This academic year, for the first time, they partnered with the Regional Food Bank to conduct a jobs analysis.

The event brought together students from both institutions to share their original research projects spanning artificial intelligence, unmanned aerial vehicle security and Internet of Things systems.

Great Danes Take Home Four America East Titles; Men's Lacrosse Hosts NCAA Opening Wednesday at Home
The University at Albany Great Danes added four America East titles over the weekend, winning championships in men's and women's track and field as well as men's and women's lacrosse. The victories earn the lacrosse teams trips to the postseason, starting with the men's team facing crosstown rival Siena on Wednesday in the opening round of the NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Tournament.

Showcase 2025: Community Mapping in the Capital Region
Twenty-five MSW students students spent the spring semester exploring eight distinct communities across the Capital Region. By interviewing residents, observing street-level sights and sounds, and analyzing demographic data, their work is at the heart of holistic community practice. All will present their work at UAlbany Showcase on April 30.

Students Take Top Prize for Device to Help Disabled Workers
Students Binh Ho, Alex Pilkey and Shakib Ahmed won first place in NYSID's annual CREATE (Cultivating Resources for Employment with Assistive Technology) competition, which provides a forum for college students across New York help those living with disabilities succeed in the workplace.
