About

Myers brings a range of experience to academia, including roles in industry, the military and state government. Before joining CNSE in 2026, he was a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Clemson University, where he also served as special assistant to the dean for student success and associate dean for inclusive excellence.

Earlier in his career, he taught as an associate professor at Mississippi State University and worked as a senior mechanical engineer at Northrup Gruman. He also served as a design and analysis engineer at the Naval Air Warfare Center and an engineer in the Maryland Department of the Environment. Myers is a member of the International Society for Optics and Photonics.
