About

Professional Interests

Dr. Cusick Brix’s professional interests include clinical training and supervision, consultation, sport psychology, training student leaders, and research in the area of multiculturalism and social justice in psychology. Clinical interests include working with first-generation students, individuals navigating difficult transitional periods, and those experiencing first onset of mental illness. As a former collegiate athlete and coach, Megan enjoys working with student athletes to address mental health concerns, reduce stigma, and optimize sport performance.

Approach to Therapy

Dr. Cusick Brix believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is paramount in therapy and she works hard to make clients feel comfortable when they seek services at CAPS. Her work is guided by cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, and psychodynamic approaches to therapy and she allows the needs of each client to inform the approach to treatment. She also seeks to recognize the ways in which cultural experiences and systems of oppression influence one’s experience in treatment and in the world.

Approach to Wellness

Dr. Cusick Brix enjoys playing softball and volleyball, watching sports (especially the Yankees and Giants), taking walks with her energetic rescue dog Bruce, and her favorite guilty pleasure, watching reality TV.
