About

Professional Interests: Maddy has experience in individual therapy with a wide range of adults experiencing difficulties with anxiety, depression, trauma, interpersonal challenges, ADHD and Autism, as well as acculturation and identity-related issues. Her professional and research interests include liberatory and justice-based approaches, coloniality in academia, and somatic interventions.

Approach to Therapy: Maddy takes a collaborative, empathetic and person-centered approach to therapy that seeks to meet you where you are while focusing on your values for your life and relationships. As a therapist, she strives to be attentive to how systems of power and the complexities of being a person inevitably color all spaces, including the therapy room. Maddy’s style of therapy is generally grounded in exploring how formative life experiences shape how we relate to one another and finding ways to be in healthier community with each other (psychodynamic, interpersonal, liberatory), but she also frequently integrates the perspectives or techniques that will be most helpful to your goals and holistic well-being.

Approach to Wellness: Maddy’s has found that a good combination of outdoor time with her pup Ferris, rock climbing and quality time with loved ones helps keep her grounded and well. She believes that everyone deserves to find their own balance and is happy to help you figure out what allows you to thrive.
