Dr. Alvaro Carrascal shares lessons from COVID-19 vaccination in the US with colleagues in Colombia

Dr. Alvaro Carrascal, an affiliated faculty member at the UAlbany Center for Global Health, participated recently in a webinar hosted by the Colombian Association of Infectious Diseases / La Asociación Colombiana de Infectología (ACIN) on the concept of herd immunity and lessons learned from the implementation of COVID-19 vaccination in the US.

Dr. Carrascal, who was born in Colombia, has collaborated with Colombian universities, non-profits, and professional organizations since his days at the New York State Department of Health’s AIDS Institute, where he coordinated annual conferences on HIV/AIDS with guest speakers from New York, the USA, and around the world.
