Maximizing your scholarship

Benefits of a Scholarship

Sure, the money is great! But being a scholarship recipient is about more than financial assistance. Here are some other ways you can benefit.

Resume Building: Being a scholarship recipient is an honor and accomplishment that is worth highlighting in your job searches and on your LinkedIn page.

Networking: Scholarship donors want to see you succeed. Reaching out with a thank you note, selfie video or attending one of our “Zoom On Us “ meetings to chat in person is a great way to network with your donor.

Professional Development: Look out for our free online workshops, on a variety of professional development topics, specifically geared toward scholarship recipients.

Exclusive Invitations to University Events: You will have a chance to meet our most successful and accomplished alumni. Establishing these connections is a great way to open doors to internships and jobs.

Access to University Leadership: Many of UAlbany’s administrators take part in our events and initiatives, and enjoy hearing from involved students.

Membership in our Circle of Philanthropy: We work closely with UAlbany Purple and Gold Ambassadors and the Student Philanthropy Ambassadors. As a scholarship recipient, you are part of a community of like-minded individuals who understand the value of giving back.
