Ayden Johnson Receives Undergraduate Research Award

Ayden Johnson has been selected as a Fall 2023 Undergraduate Research Award recipient under the supervision of Professor Pinka Chatterji.

Johnson's research proposal will explore the reasons behind the observed decline in disability applications in some states during the pandemic. He will conduct web-based research to understand the factors driving these variations using State Agency Monthly Workload Data merged with state-level information on COVID-19 cases and deaths and other state-level information.

This honor comes with a $900 award, which he intends to use to support his work. This research is expected to provide valuable insights for policymakers and contribute to a deeper understanding of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the disability application landscape in the United States.
