Heritage, Cultural Identity & Religious Observances

Diversity is a core institutional priority and intrinsic to our goal of becoming the leading diverse public research university in the nation.  We are proud to be a Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award (HEED) recipient six years in a row.

The University acknowledges or observes various heritage months and cultural/identity recognition days to celebrate the rich tapestry of the campus community.

The list is not exhaustive, faculty and staff should continue to consult with their students to be assured any holidays and observances are recognized and accommodated in accordance with New York State Education Law 224-A. Members of our campus community may request accommodations for cultural and religious observances.

Every effort has been made to ensure that this information is accurate and inclusive. If you have any additions or corrections, please feel free to contact us.
