Meningococcal Disease: Recognizing the Risks, Preventing the Impact

Overview

Meningococcal disease continues to cause epidemics, has a high case fatality rate, and can lead to disability that can severely impact the quality of life after disease. Additionally, in recent years, serogroup Y cases have risen in New York State. Expert speakers for this webcast will discuss the current state of the disease as well as review vaccine recommendations endorsed by the New York State Department of Health. A survivor of invasive meningococcal disease will also give their firsthand account on how this disease can quickly impact one’s life.
