Family Integrated Care – The Journey from Idea to Making it Happen

As a result of this educational activity, the learner will increase and enhance their knowledge and competence on implementation of the FiCare model that aims to improve outcomes and experience of care for families and infants, with an emphasis on Black infants, in  neonatal intensive care units (NICUs)

By the end of the activity, learners will be able to:

• Explain how FiCare increases parental empowerment, learning, shared decision making, and positive parent-infant caregiving experiences.
• List the 4 FiCare Pillars. 
• Identify 2 examples of topics included in a FiCare Parent Educational Plan. 
• Discuss a plan for how your team can use FiCare strategies to achieve the NICU Equity Project AIMs.

Evaluation and Continuing Education Credits

To Obtain Continuing Education Credits

Each participant interested in CE credits must watch the activity, complete an evaluation and post-test, which is available above under "Evaluation, Post-test for CE Credits". A score of 80% and above on the post-test will generate a certificate indicating the requested credits.

Criteria for Successful Completion: 

Learners must attend 100% of this activity to be awarded full continuing education credits /contact hours.
