Group Exercise

Who can participate in group exercise classes? 

Undergraduate Students: You have full access to all group exercise classes. 

Graduate Students: Please purchase a Campus Recreation Membership to participate in group exercise classes. 

Faculty & Staff: Please purchase a Group Exercise Pass to participate in group exercise classes. 

 

Updates & Alerts 

Follow Campus Recreation on Instagram for updates on class cancellations or location changes. 

During the Academic Year, if the Campus Recreation fitness centers are closed, there will be no group exercise classes. (For example, when the fitness centers close at 4 p.m. on Friday before a break, there are also no classes after 4 p.m.) 

 

Fall 2022 Group Exercise Class Schedule

All classes are all held inside the Physical Education Building (PE Building) on the Uptown Campus. Download a campus map. 

The Group Exercise Studio, the Spin Studio and the Martial Arts Room (MAT Room) are all located in the basement of the PE Building. The Dance Studio is located on the third floor. 
 

Monday

8 to 8:45 a.m.: Cycle (Spin Studio) 

10 to 10:45 a.m.: Full Body Flow (Group Exercise Studio) 

3 to 3:45 p.m.: Yoga Flow (Group Exercise Studio) 

5 to 5:45 p.m.: Cycle (Spin Studio) 

7 to 7:45 p.m.: HIIT (Group Exercise Studio) 

8:30 to 9 p.m.: Express Cycle (Spin Studio) 

Tuesday

Class Descriptions

Aikido

Develop your mind and body in this defensive martial arts exercise class. Aikido’s natural movements promote a relaxed body, calm mind and powerful spirit. All fitness levels welcome. 

Barre

Challenge muscles you didn’t know you had. This non-impact class combines yoga, Pilates and ballet to sculpt the entire body. All fitness levels are welcome. 

Beginner Strength

Bring your muscles and get to lifting. This back-to-basics strength class is a total body workout. All fitness levels are welcome. 

Bollywood Zumba

Try Zumba with a Bollywood twist. This dance class uses traditional Bollywood music and moves to create a fun, energizing workout. No experience required. 

Cycle

Strap in for a fun, exciting ride full of hills, springs and jumps. This non-impact class can help you reach your fitness goals. All fitness levels are welcome. Note: Each class is limited to 15 participants.

Express Cycle

Strap in for a fun, exciting ride full of hills, springs and jumps. This non-impact class can help you reach your fitness goals. All fitness levels are welcome. Note: Each class is limited to 15 participants. This class is only 30 minutes total. 

Foundation of Flexibility

Participate in a recovery, stretching and mobility-based class. Each stretch is done individually and held for an extended period. Participants may use foam rollers, lacrosse balls and other props to deepen their stretch. This is not a flow class.

Full Body Flow

Get a total body workout using weights and body weight exercises. All fitness levels are welcome. 

Guts, Butts & Thighs (GBT)  

Sculpt, shape and strengthen! A variety of lunges, squats and other lower body movements will work your abs, glutes and legs. All fitness levels are welcome. 

HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)  

Get your heart pumping and your body moving during this great total body workout. While all fitness levels are welcome, this class is geared toward middle to upper fitness levels. 

Killa Kore 

Looking for an abs day? You’ve come to the right place! This class mixes longer intervals with a little rest. While all fitness levels are welcome, this class is geared toward advanced fitness levels. 

Morning Meditation 

Learn how to meditate and harness the power of your breathing. Your instructor will guide you through various techniques and intersperse some good morning yoga to start your day. No fitness level is required for this class. 

Own it Afro Beat Dance

Master some new dance moves. This instructional dance class pairs Afro beats with fun and creative choreography. Beginners and experienced dancers alike are welcome. 

Yoga Flow

Build heat and expand your practice. Yoga Flow is a beginner/intermediate class. Participants are instructed through multiple flows and encouraged to challenge themselves by choice. All are welcome. 

Yoga Pilates Fusion 

Don’t underestimate this dynamic workout! This fun crossover class combined the best of yoga and Pilates. All fitness levels are welcome.
