Kyle White was nominated by his research mentor, Professor Ying Wang, to receive the CIIM Distinguished Thesis Award for his senior thesis, “Fund Flows and Underlying Returns: The Case of Commodity ETFs.”

Kyle’s study concluded that investor flows into ETFs may play an important role on returns in the underlying commodity markets.

Professor David Smith stated, “Kyle also earned a great deal of respect as head of UAlbany’s student team that competed in the 2020 CFA Research challenge. Under Kyle’s leadership, the group produced UAlbany’s best work in our ten years of competing.”
