Faculty Expertise and Achievement
Dr. Ying Wang is an Associate Professor of Finance at the Massry School of Business and Center for Institutional Investment Management at the University at Albany, State University of New York. Her research interests include mutual funds, hedge funds, fixed income markets, and applications of AI in finance. Dr. Wang has published in top finance and business journals such as Management Science, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Financial Intermediation, Journal of Financial Markets, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Empirical Finance, and Financial Management. Major business media such as Bloomberg Business, Forbes, and The Wall Street Journal have cited her research. Her teaching interests include fixed income securities markets and financial markets and institutions.
She has won several awards including the Midwest Finance Association Meeting Best Paper Award in Risk Management, the Eastern Finance Association Meeting Best Paper Award in International Finance, and the UALBANY Massry School of Business Dean's Award for Outstanding Faculty Research and Premier Research Award. She is also a recipient of the inaugural UAlbany AI & Society Research Fellowship.
Dr. Wang has served as an ad hoc referee for numerous journals, including the Journal of Banking and Finance, Financial Review, Journal of Financial Research, and Finance Research Letters, and as a program committee member for many finance conferences. She is also a topic board member and guest editor for multiple special issues of the Journal of Risk and Financial Management.
