About
Dr. Choi is a South Korean-born artist and educator whose practice spans experimental animation, XR, video games and bio-sensor-driven interactive installations. She has exhibited her work internationally at venues such as the International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA), SIGGRAPH Asia, Blitz Valletta in Malta and the New Mexico Museum of Art–Vladem Contemporary, and has been featured in WIRED, Geek Wire, KUOW/NPR and The Seattle Times.
She currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Digital Arts in the Department of Art and Art History at the University at Albany, where she teaches courses in digital media, animation and interactive art and contributes to interdisciplinary programming in gaming and immersive technologies.
Research Interests
Experimental animation, XR, video games, bio-sensor-driven interactive installations, feminist ritual, embodied memory, and diasporic identity with handcrafted materials and emerging technologies.
