About

Barry Dale, originally from Missouri, has been a field archaeologist since 1998.

He holds a BA degree in art history and archaeology from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and an MA in classical archaeology from the University at Albany. Barry has also extensively studied anthropology.

He has been employed as archaeologist at the New York State Museum for more than 20 years, where he has prepared dozens of report publications on the archaeology of New York State, as well as presented papers at multiple regional and national conferences.

His interests include funerary practices and cross-cultural studies. Barry has taught college courses in this discipline for the University at Albany and Siena University for the past 20 years.
