Situation Interactive Prize for Experience Research

Undergraduate Research is thrilled to announce that the application is now LIVE for the Situation Interactive Prize for Experience Research!

At the 14th Annual University at Albany Undergraduate Research Conference, Damian Bazadona '98 made a commitment to provide undergraduate students with an award for their participation in research, scholarship, and creative activities!

Damian graduated from the University at Albany with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. He is the founder and President of Situation Interactive which provides digital marketing services for see-it-to-believe-it brand experiences including theatre, film, television, sports, arts, travel, tourism, and live events.

Students can now apply for ONE of NINE awards for $500!



In order to be eligible for the Situation Interactive Prize for Experience Research, students must:

1. Be a matriculated student
2. Be enrolled in at least 6 credits in the Spring 2018 semester
3. Be actively engaged in a research, scholarship, or creative activity project in the Spring 2018 semester
4. Complete the full online application by 11:59 PM on March 23, 2018

With their application students must submit the following:
1. An abstract for their research, scholarship, or creative activity project
2. The name and email address for their project advisor
3. A 300-500 word essay addressing the following prompt:
In 2001, Damian Bazadona ’98 founded Situation Interactive on a mission to connect people with amazing experiences. His company’s growth has been centered on the following four core tenets: passion, innovation, collaboration, and commitment. We want to hear how these tenets have inspired your journey and experience in the research you conducted. Please tell us how one or all of these tenets have impacted the research, scholarship, or creative activity you are working on or completing.
4. A one-sentence video with a tagline that you feel encompasses your goal – uploaded to UGR@albany.edu on the OneDrive
5. A draft of your research, scholarship, or creativity activity poster, presentation, or paper
6. Your resume
