Who can participate in group exercise classes? 

You must show your UAlbany ID to be admitted into The Well at Colonial, where group exercise classes are held.

  • Undergraduate Students: You have full access to The Well and all group exercise classes. 
  • Graduate Students: Please purchase a Recreation & Wellness Membership to access The Well and participate in group exercise classes. Semester memberships are available. 
  • Faculty, Staff & Affiliated Employees: Please purchase a Well Membership to access The Well and participate in group exercise classes. Semester, summer and annual memberships are available. 

 

Updates & Alerts 

Follow Recreation & Wellness on Instagram for updates on class cancellations or location changes. 

During the Academic Year, if the Recreation & Wellness fitness centers are closed, there will be no group exercise classes. (For example, when the fitness centers close at 4 p.m. on Friday before a break, there are also no classes after 4 p.m.)

HIIT

Push yourself with High-intensity Interval Training (HIIT)! Featuring short bursts of high-intensity exercises followed by brief recovery periods, this workout is designed to maximize calorie burn and boost your strength.

Indoor Cycling

Pedal your way to fitness in our low-impact, high-energy indoor cycling classes. Follow our instructors through various climbs, sprints and races to upbeat music that will leave you feeling invigorated and accomplished.

Classes vary in length from 30 minutes to an hour, so you can fit a workout into your busy schedule.

Pilates

Discover the fundamentals of Pilates in this invigorating mat-based class designed to improve your core strength, flexibility and overall body awareness. 

Mat Pilates focuses on controlled movements and breath work to engage deep stabilizing muscles, enhancing your posture and balance.

Strength Training
