Spring Choral Hour: Song of Fate and Hope, Life and Love

The UAlbany Chamber Singers and Community Chorale present songs that explore the vast experience of humanity in songs from across culture and time.

Featured music includes settings of poets Langston Hughes (I Dream a World), Leonora Speyer (Measure Me, Sky), Emily Dickinson (Hope is the Thing with Feathers), Hafiz (the Sacred Dance of Life), Paul Lawrence Dunbar (Sing with the Lark) and Sara Teasdale (If I Can Sing, I Still Am Free).

Musical styles include arrangements of classic American songs (Hard Times Come Again No More, Bridge Over Troubled Water), gospel songs (Walk Together Children, Stick With Love), and a performance of the popular O Fortuna from Orff’s Carmina Burana.
