Thornton Wilder’s classic American play about life, death, and the ties that bind us together, reimagined for today’s Albany community. Set in the fictional town of Grover’s Corners, we follow life through the eyes of its everyday citizens, narrated by the Stage Manager, with a meta-theatricality ahead of its time. Winner of the 1938 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and called “the greatest American play ever written” (by Edward Albee), Our Town is directed by Jean-Remy Monnay of the Black Theatre Troupe of Upstate NY, returning to UAlbany after his direction of Clyde’s and The Piano Lesson.
