Overview
This program supports ambitious education research projects that aim to advance the understanding of educational processes and practices, that make a significant contribution to theory or practice in education. Funder is looking for well-developed projects, not exploratory studies.
Funder welcomes projects that utilize a wide array of research methods including the diverse range of quantitative and qualitative methods, mixed-methods, ethnographies, design-based research, participatory methods, and historical research.
Important Information
PI and Co-PI must hold a doctorate in their academic field of study and cannot hold more than one active Spencer Foundation grant at a time. Graduate students may participate but cannot lead the project.
Process
This is a two-step application process.
• The pre-proposal document (step 1) is managed by the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations (OCFR).
• If you would like to apply, email OCFR for more details and a pre-proposal worksheet.
• Submit the completed pre-proposal worksheet to OCFR by Feb. 13
• If you are invited by the Funder to submit a full proposal, (step 2), it will be managed by the Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA).
