American Brain Foundation: Next Gen Rsrch Grants for early career

Overview

Funder seeks to support early career researchers studying neurology and brain disease. Funder limits these opportunities to those who have completed residency or a PhD no more than 5 years prior to the beginning of the award.

Funder is interested in research related to ALS, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, epilepsy, peripheral neuropathy, cognitive aging, and other brain disorders, with the goal of new discoveries and helping investigators establish independent research careers. Funder emphasizes cross-cutting research that can advance understanding across multiple brain diseases.

Working with different partners, funder is offering:
For ALS, three programs from different collaborators are open

For other categories, such as Cognitive Aging, General, Parkinson's Peripheral Neuropathy, Neuromuscular Disease, and Stroke there is one program open for each

For Epilepsy and Mal de Debarquement Syndrome and Central Vestibular Disorders, there is each a program opening soon

Important Information

In general, funding is for two years. No indirect costs will be covered.

If you are considering an application in which you are the Principal Investigator, please ensure you meet PI eligibility requirements.

Process

This is a single step application process:

Fill out the Sponsored Programs Administration's Proposal Request Form to be assigned a research administrator.

The application will be managed by SPA, and you will work with your assigned research administrator.

All required information, in final form, needs to be submitted to SPA no later than five business days before submission deadline.
