As Director of the two Empire State Development funded Center for Advanced Technology in Nanomaterials and Nanoelectronics (CATN2) and Center of Excellence in Nanoelectronics and Nanotechnology (CENN), Mr. Goodman’s responsibilities include assisting companies operating in New York State in bridging each phase in the research-development-deployment (RD&D) continuum.
Mr. Goodman accomplishes this through the systematic progression in technology transitions, workforce skills attainment, market adoption and entrepreneurial growth by aligning and coordinating an array of capabilities that support innovation with “applied research,” transitioning to development with “technology acceleration,” leading to deployment by demonstrating “manufacturing / operational performance."
Selected Achievements
Mr. Goodman has developed and coordinated several new programs that support the attraction and growth of NY companies through various technology and workforce development initiatives including the CATN2 Matching Investment Program, CENN Fellowships, and NanoMixers.
Mr. Goodman has also succeeded in the development of strategic consortia, centers, and program activities that have resulted in nearly $1 billion of public and private investments through industry, university and government partnerships in diverse technology areas that include: semiconductor, photovoltaic, power electronics, quantum, and silicon photonics.
