Who can participate in group exercise classes?
You must show your UAlbany ID to be admitted into The Well at Colonial, where group exercise classes are held.
- Undergraduate Students: You have full access to The Well and all group exercise classes.
- Graduate Students: Please purchase a Recreation & Wellness Membership to access The Well and participate in group exercise classes. Semester memberships are available.
- Faculty, Staff & Affiliated Employees: Please purchase a Well Membership to access The Well and participate in group exercise classes. Semester, summer and annual memberships are available.
University-recognized student organizations and UAlbany departments/offices may also request a private group exercise class.

During the Academic Year, if The Well at Colonial is closed, there will be no group exercise classes. (For example, when The Well closes at 4 p.m. on Friday before a break, there are also no classes after 4 p.m.)

What to know about group exercise classes:
- All group exercise classes are now held at The Well at Colonial, located within Colonial Quad on the Uptown Campus.
- Equipment for all classes is provided, including yoga mats, weights, boxing gloves, etc.
- Classes operate on a first-come, first-serve basis, with no advanced reservations required. We recommend arriving at least five to 10 minutes before a class starts to ensure you can participate. Note: Indoor Cycling classes are limited to 30 participants due to the availability of stationary bikes.
