Overview
The Kress Foundation’s History of Art Grants Program supports scholarly projects that deepen the understanding and appreciation of European art and architecture from antiquity through the early 19th century. Funding is available for initiatives such as archival and documentation projects, scholarly databases, museum exhibitions, publications, photographic campaigns, technical studies, conferences, symposia, and international scholarly exchanges. The program also supports professional development opportunities in museums.
Important Information
Grant portal not opening until August 15, and there are two cycles per year (Spring and Fall).
If you are considering an application in which you are the Principal Investigator, please ensure you meet PI eligibility requirements.
Process
This is a two-step application process.
- The Letter of Intent (LOI/step 1) is managed by the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations.
- If you would like to apply, email [email protected] for more and an LOI worksheet.
- Submit the completed LOI worksheet no later than September 8.
If invited to submit a full proposal (step 2), it will be managed by the Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA).
