J-1 Visiting Scholars

Participate in Professional & Cultural Exchange

International visiting scholars — who are often referred to as J-1 Exchange Visitors (EV) — help enrich research, professional and cultural exchange at the University at Albany.

Most of UAlbany's international visiting scholars are non-tenure-track researchers or instructors in non-staff roles. Other J-1 exchange visitor categories include foreign university student interns and non-degree cohorts participating in short-term instruction or training programs.

Please visit the International Visiting Scholar Program webpage to learn more about the program and to access information for host departments and visiting scholars.
