About

Specializing in down-the-field baton twirling and visual design choreography, Marissa is excited to be part of UAlbany's instructional staff.

A Pennsylvania native, Marissa brings over 25 years of baton twirling experience, as well as six years of competitive marching band experience as a feature twirler and mallet percussionist, to UAlbany. She has earned numerous international titles for both solo and team baton twirling performances.

For more than a decade, Marissa has instructed, choreographed and designed baton twirling routines for indoor performances across a wide range of ages and skill levels. Most recently, she designed and twirled with Penn State’s indoor competitive team while completing her undergraduate and graduate degrees. Her training includes work alongside collegiate athletes and current world champions, helping her continually refine her skills.

Marissa believes her dedication to the performing arts and baton twirling has instilled invaluable life skills, and she’s passionate about passing them on to the next generation. She looks forward to fostering a safe, creative environment where all members of the UAlbany band can come together to create memorable performances!
