‘University at Albany Week’ Airs on WAMC's Academic Minute
ALBANY, N.Y. (June 11, 2019) -- WAMC Northeast Public Radio featured five faculty members last week for “University at Albany Week” on Academic Minute.
Academic Minute highlights research from colleges and universities around the world, featuring a different professor each day.

Monday, June 3: Improving Responses to Juvenile Delinquency to Reduce Recidivism, featuring Megan Kurlychek, School of Criminal Justice
Tuesday, June 4: Reducing HIV Infections, featuring David Holtgrave, School of Public Health
Wednesday, June 5: Battling the Underground Gun Market, featuring David Hureau, School of Criminal Justice
Thursday, June 6: Improving Communication of Weather Information During Natural Disasters, featuring Amber Silver, College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity
Friday, June 7: The Reciprocity of Empathy in Online, Health-Based Communities, featuring InduShobha Chengalur-Smith, School of Business
Research on LBGTQ youth in foster care, conducted by Sarah Mountz, School of Social Welfare, will air the first week of July on Academic Minute.
Each episode airs on WAMC Northeast Public Radio’s (the Capital Region’s local NPR-syndicated station) 26 transmitters and translators at 7:30a.m. and 3:56p.m. weekdays, covering portions of seven northeast states. The segment is syndicated to several other stations throughout the United States and streamed via the web internationally, according to the show’s website.
