About

Adam Nurre (he/him) is freelance musician, educator, and music producer based in the New York capital region. Adam earned his bachelor's degree in music education with a minor in percussion performance from Northern Kentucky University, where he studied orchestral percussion with Dick Jensen (Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra) and Scott Lang (Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra), and drum set with Daniel Dorff (Jim James, Ray LaMontagne).
Adam is currently the touring drummer for country artist Jeremy Pinnell and performs locally with cover band Funk Evolution. He has also recorded and toured internationally with: David Ramirez, John Calvin Abney, Lydia Loveless, Jason Hawk Harris, Carson McHone, Ben Ballinger and many others. Adam is proud to be an endorsing artist for Mapex drums, Dream cymbals and Humes & Berg cases.
Since 1999, Adam has been fortunate to work with hundreds of students in Ohio, Kentucky, Texas, Tennessee and New York. His teaching experience includes serving as Director of Percussion at Colerain HS & MS (Cincinnati OH), Assistant Percussion Director at Rouse HS & Wiley MS (Austin TX), a member of the visual staff at Spirit of Atlanta Drum & Bugle Corps and percussion staff at Southwind Drum & Bugle Corps. In addition to the Marching Great Danes, Adam currently teaches Guitar, Percussion and Rock Band classes at Brown School in Schenectady NY, as well as private lessons on drums, bass, guitar and piano at Scotia Music Academy.
Outside of teaching and performing, Adam runs Heard Of It Audio, a music studio specializing in drum tracking, song production for artists and custom music composition for film and other media. He resides in the rural Hilltowns area of Albany with his wife Ashton and chihuahua Frank.
