The Institute for Social and Health Equity (ISHE) proudly participated in the UAlbany Showcase 2026 at the University at Albany, SUNY, an annual event highlighting research, scholarship and creative activity across the university.

As a university-wide research hub, ISHE used this opportunity to engage with students, faculty, and community members, sharing its mission to advance interdisciplinary research addressing social and health inequities. ISHE representatives provided information about ongoing initiatives, collaborative opportunities and resources available to support research across disciplines.

A key highlight of ISHE’s presence was the participation of the Center for the Elimination of Minority Health Disparities (CEHD), one of ISHE’s core centers. CEHD showcased research posters and engaged attendees in discussions on health equity and community-based research. The center also shared information about its doctoral fellowship program, which supports students interested in research focused on eliminating health disparities.

The ISHE table also drew enthusiastic attention with a visit from Damien, UAlbany’s mascot (as shown in the accompanying images), helping create an engaging and welcoming environment for attendees to learn more about ISHE’s work.

Through its participation in Showcase 2026, ISHE continues to strengthen its role as a hub for interdisciplinary collaboration, mentorship and impactful research across the University at Albany community.
