About

Lisa Clarke received her bachelor's in history and master's in Africana studies from the University at Albany. She is also a proud alumnus of UAlbany EOP. Mrs. Clarke believes in a holistic approach to student support.

She is a strong advocate for solving food insecurity and student hunger on campus. The impact on the student and the institution extends to academic performance, retention and graduation. Mrs. Clarke started the UAlbany EOP Food Pantry — which serves EOP juniors and seniors who live in on-campus apartments or live off campus — in Spring 2017 and now serves as the pantry coordinator. The original idea started in Fall 2013 when she worked as an EOP advisor at SUNY Schenectady, recognized a need and put a box outside her office door. Now, she helps students find available resources, while providing them access to the food pantry.

She is a proponent of early education and intervention, and previously created and facilitated a Real World Budgeting workshop for middle and high school students who were participating in UAlbany STEP. Now, she incorporates this workshop into her classes as the instructor for UUNI 100 Freshman Year Experience and UUNI 200 Sophomore Year Experience. She also facilitates the EOP student success workshop on note taking during the fall and spring semesters.
