EPL well represented in leadership roles around the world

 

Albany, NY (October 16, 2018) – Gilbert A. Valverde, acting chair of the Department of Educational Policy & Leadership (EPL), was invited to deliver the inaugural address at the 40th bi-annual meeting of the Country Coordinators of the Latin American Laboratory for Assessment of the Quality of Education (LLECE) in Lima, Perú in September. Dr. Valverde was then invited to assume the role of Senior Advisor to this Latin American group of 19 countries that conduct large-scale cross-national assessments in mathematics, science and reading in the primary grades, part of UNESCO’s Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean.

EPL is further represented in LLECE by Ancell Scheker Mendoza, EPL alumna and National Coordinator for the Dominican Republic. Dr. Scheker Mendoza is a recognized leader in this international testing organization.
