Professional Interests

Dr. DelTosta has professional interest in providing efficacious person-centered therapy, providing counselor development and training, developing programs for prevention, outreach, and public health promotion, involvement in advocacy, and research activities. Her clinical goal involves supporting individuals in developing a healthier and more balanced life for themselves, whatever this may mean for each person. She specializes in helping people to recover from particularly emotionally painful or traumatic experiences.

Approach to Therapy

Dr. DelTosta’s approach to therapy is integrative. Starting from a person-centered framework where genuine trust and non-judgment are key, Dr. DelTosta uses a combination of approaches from psychodynamic, interpersonal, experiential, and cognitive-behavioral philosophies to best understand and address each person’s concerns. You can expect to be treated like a whole individual during the therapy process.

Approach to Wellness

Dr. DelTosta believes in promoting lifestyle balance for every person by striving to make time for different types of activities. This can be any combination of activities that may be engaging, meaningful, challenging, restful, restorative, etc. For herself, this includes practicing yoga, indoor rock climbing, regularly spending time with friends, as well and having her own down time.
