About

Matthew Beebe joined the College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity at the University at Albany in 2018 as an academic advisor for the Informatics program.

He holds more than 15 years of higher education advisement experience with a focus on student growth and success. Throughout his career, Matt has worked with a diverse student body and advised on-campus and fully online new, transfer, continuing, and returning students with an emphasis on student-centered, collaborative, and ongoing engagement.

Prior to his advisement career, Matt was an instructor and tutor, and also served as legislative director the New York State Assembly where he advocated for SUNY college initiatives and issues.

Matt holds a BA in History and Political Science from Union College and an MA in History from UAlbany. He also received an AAS in Paralegal Studies at Schenectady County Community College.
