Altium Packaging, via HALO Science
Enabling bleach-compatible, recyclable PET packaging
- Award: up to $100,000
- Deadline: If interested, notify [email protected] by November 7. Full proposals, administered by sponsored programs, are due by November 28.
Overview
Altium Packaging is offering a grant opportunity to identify innovative materials, additives, coatings, or multilayer structures that enable PET (polyethylene terephthalate) containers to safely package bleach while remaining recyclable. The goal is to replace HDPE with PET, offering advantages like clarity and lightweight design, but typically degrades when exposed to bleach. Proposed solutions must ensure 12-month bleach compatibility, be compatible with blow-molding processes, and meet recyclability standards. Ideal submissions will be commercially scalable and cost-competitive with HDPE.
Important Information
Focus is on bleach compatibility, recyclability, and scalability.
This opportunity is presented by HALO Science.
