Margarita Kopp

Margarita Kopp is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) with more than fifteen years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and young adults with diverse learning needs. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Studies with a minor in Psychology from Portland State University and her Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) Degree in School Psychology from Lewis & Clark College. She is a licensed school psychologist in Oregon, Texas, and New York. Prior to becoming a school psychologist, Margarita gained extensive experience working directly with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities, providing in-home and school-based ABA services, serving as a teaching assistant in K–5 special education classrooms, and working in specialized educational settings for students with significant behavioral and complex needs. She has also worked in residential treatment facilities, group homes, and day programs serving youth with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Autism has remained a central area of Margarita’s professional experience and interest throughout her career. As a school psychologist, she has supported individuals with autism across a range of developmental, behavioral, communication, and learning profiles, with a particular interest in social-emotional development, self-regulation, mental health, and evidence-based supports for adolescents and young adults. Her professional interests include the intersection of autism with co-occurring mental health needs, trauma, behavioral science, and systems of care.

As an Education Specialist at CARD, Margarita will be helping to translate research and evidence-based practices into practical, individualized supports that can be meaningfully implemented across schools, families, and communities.
