Overview
EREF invites pre-proposals for research that advances sustainable solid waste management across:
- greenhouse gas emissions
- emerging contaminants
- materials circularity and recycling
Projects must align with EREF's definition of solid waste and address key gaps such as emissions quantifications, PFAS impacts, and efficacy. Funding is for scalable, innovative research with practical applications.

Process
This is a two-step application process.
- The Letter of Intent (LOI/Step 1) is managed by the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations.
- If you would like to apply, email [email protected] for more details and an LOI worksheet.
- Submit LOI worksheet by: November 25.
- If invited to submit a full proposal, (step 2), it will be managed by the Office of Sponsored Programs.
