Dr. de Long is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Health Policy, Management of Behavior in the Social Behavior and Community Health track. She is the Co-Director of the College of Integrated Health Sciences' Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Program and Director of the Fellowship in Applied Public Health, a specialized training program for licensed health care professionals transitioning from clinical practice to public health leadership roles. Her work centers on public health policy and practice and professional development, with a focus on MCH. Her special interests include social support, families, sexual and reproductive health, health equity and justice, the role of mentoring in professional development, and translating MCH Life Course principles to policy and practice. Prior to her current roles at Health Sciences, she worked as a public health physician at the NYS Department of Health for 16 years, serving in a series of leadership roles including the NYS Title V/MCH Director.
