College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity (CEHC) Appoints New Professor To Its Faculty Ranks

The College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity (CEHC) at the University at Albany proudly welcomes a new Informatics assistant professor to its growing family.

Kimberly Cornell joins the Information Sciences and Technology Department from the College of St. Rose in Albany, New York. Her research focuses on cryptographic protocol analysis and related areas, including indistinguishability. As an associate professor in Computer Science, she has instructed at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in the fields of Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems and Cybersecurity.

“Kimberly is an excellent addition to our Department of Information Science and Technology,” said Robert P. Griffin, founding dean, College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity (CEHC). “The academic and research experience she brings with her will truly be an asset to students, faculty and University partners.”

Dr. Cornell holds a BS in Computer Science from SUNY Plattsburgh; and an MS and a PhD in Computer Science from the University at Albany.

She will support the burgeoning research ecosystem at CEHC by hosting a cryptographic protocol analysis laboratory.
