About

Marcie Fraser joined the College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity at the University at Albany in 2017 as a Teacher with the Questar III New Visions Program.

New Visions is a one-year career exploration program that provides highly motivated seniors with the opportunity to gain valuable insights into career options from a real-world perspective. Dr. Fraser works with students interested in emergency preparedness, informatics, cybersecurity and homeland security.

Prior to joining CEHC, she worked at the New York State Department of Health as a health educator in emergency preparedness. She also held a position as a supervisor for the New York State Contact Tracing Initiative/Department of Health.

Dr. Fraser also spent 15 years as a news reporter covering medical and fitness news.

She holds a BS in Social Work from University of Brockport, an MPA in Public Health from the University at Albany, and a PhD in Public Health Policy and Management from the University at Albany.
