UAlbany's Student-Run Mock Trial Team Competes in New Haven Regional Tournament at Yale
On February 16-18, Marcie Newton, faculty coach to UAlbany’s student-run Mock Trial (pictured above), accompanied the A and B teams to the New Haven Regional Tournament at Yale University, run and hosted by the American Mock Trial Association. UAlbany was up against established teams like Siena, Boston University, and Yale itself, with UAlbany finishing +6 points by the end of the tournament. “It was an incredible experience for UAlbany as a new player on the scene,” said Marcie. “Our teams proudly represented our university. I am enormously impressed with these students. They spent months preparing for this tournament, and their evident dedication and commitment to the team is inspiring.” UAlbany’s Mock Trial exemplifies core values that UAlbany empowers in its students, including opportunities for leadership and teamwork, creative and critical thinking, collaboration, and fostering lifelong friendships.
