About

Pierino (Perry) Bonanni received his S.B., S.M., E.E., and PhD degrees in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Dr. Bonanni is a Senior Engineer in Controls & Optimization at GE Research. He specializes in signal and image processing, with emphasis on detection, estimation, and inverse problems arising in controls and diagnostics applications. He has led applied research efforts in advanced manufacturing, fault detection, machine vision, robotics, satellite navigation, non-destructive inspection, and remote sensing. He is a 2017 recipient of the IEEE CSS Control Systems Technology Award for his work on Trip Optimizer. He is the architect of MATLAB software packages and data visualizations in wide use at GE. He is a book author, has received over 40 GE awards and recognitions, and holds 33 U.S. patents.
