Every Commencement event will require registration. To participate, follow the planning checklist and be sure to not miss any deadlines.
The Stage Crossing is not your typical commencement ceremony - in fact, it's not a ceremony at all. Rather, it's a unique graduation experience that allows graduates and guests to celebrate together from start to finish. Graduates register and select a 15-minute arrival window that works best for their needs. On the day of the event, graduate and guests check in as one party within your 15-minute arrival window and enjoy this intimate celebration that includes a walk down memory lane, messages from University leadership, professional photographs as well as custom photo backdrops, and most importantly - an unforgettable stage crossing moment with your family and friends in the front row!
Undergraduates who are double majors will have both majors announced as they cross the stage but may register for one or both Stage Crossing(s).
The Graduate and Doctoral Stage Crossings will include light refreshments.
All Stage Crossings will be held in the Broadview Center (formerly SEFCU Arena) on the Uptown Campus.
This University-wide event is held outdoors on the Entry Plaza lawn, rain or shine. Undergraduates will sit with their fellow students and be recognized en masse by School and College as degrees are officially conferred. Featuring traditional pomp and circumstance, formal remarks, and academic pageantry, this ceremony offers an unmatched atmosphere of energy and excitement that you don’t want to miss!
Open to all undergraduate (gratis) and their guests (paid), attendance is optional but encouraged! Celebrate your academic achievements as you join the ranks of our Great Dane alumni family. Mingle with fellow graduates, families and friends, University and Alumni Association leadership, faculty, staff, and alumni while enjoying appetizers and beverages around the iconic fountain. Registration is required. Email invitations, with the registration link, are sent to eligible undergraduates in April.
