Highlights
- The Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) is funded at $1.09 billion, up from $1.04 billion in last year’s enacted budget.
- The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) is funded at $26.8 million, a decrease of $5.4 million from last year’s enacted budget*
- The Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP) is funded at $13.2 million, a decrease of $2.6 million from last year’s enacted budget*
- The Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (C-STEP) is funded at $10 million, a decrease of $2 million from last year’s enacted budget*
- The Liberty Partnership Program (LPP) is funded at $15.3 million, a decrease of $3 million from last year’s enacted budget*
*The Executive eliminated the increases made by the Legislature last year.
DREAM Act
The Executive Budget again advances the creation of the DREAM Act to allow undocumented immigrants who graduated from a New York State high school eligibility to the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) and other scholarship programs.
