Intercultural Student Engagement
Fostering connection, empowerment, celebration and belonging.
Intercultural Student Engagement (ISE) is a collective of intentional staff and students who enhance community and belonging on a culturally dynamic campus by fostering intersectional spaces and social justice education through peer led programming.
Our centers and events offer inspirational spaces to build a foundation of personal connections, deepen self-exploration and practice allyship and advocacy skills. We welcome you to have intersectional dialogues and meaningful intercultural experiences to learn more about yourself and others as you prepare to lead in and out of the classroom.
UAlbany is home to students across every culture, spirituality, gender, sexuality, ability and more. Discover how to connect more deeply with yourself and present authentically within our community.
ISE Peer Educators lead events from Orientation through graduation. There is always a place on campus for you to learn, connect and grow in each of our centers.
Our diverse student body is celebrated for their leadership, academic accomplishments and community building. Save the date for recognition events to see if you're eligible!

The Connections Peer Educator program enhances the cultural competency and awareness of the UAlbany community. It promotes a deep appreciation of differences in physical and mental abilities, culture, race, ethnicity, religion, language, national origin, sexual orientation, gender and economic status while providing a forum to discuss social issues and their impact.
This program trains students seeking leadership experience related to diversity and inclusion to become peer facilitators of educational workshops and dialogue to promote diversity and inclusion.
